I started my vacation this evening.
We finished off our Tech Symposium, where we had our users and partners talk about what they are doing with our software, and we showed some new stuff we are about to release.
That ended at about 4:00. We recapped the show until about 5:00, and then I was done for a week.
Doreen had made reservations at a Michelin one star restaurant called cincsentits. Contrary to what you may think, that means "The Five Senses"
And appeal to the senses they did!
I did not take any photos, so this will not be a particularly visual post, but the food was wonderful. The chef is a young up and comer, and you could tell he was taking some of his chops from places like El Bulli (as in Garlic Foam)
There were two different tasting menus, and we went for the bigger one, and the less rustic wine course.
The food ranged from good to great. Pate with glazed leeks, carmelized sugar and chive arrope.
Wild Mediterranean red mullet cooked in a bag.
Iberian suckling pig with apple sauce.
The desserts were equally sublime. Chocolate, Lemon Ice, Yuzu foam.
And not only that, Peter Duncan, his wife and two kids walked in as we were starting our meal!
Life is crazy.
Then, on our walk home, we saw Larry White and his wife Jill at a sidewalk cafe we passed by!
On to France tomorrow. Expect photos.
