Screw tops: Bad. Corks: Good!

Vinography: A Wine Blog: Uh oh. Screwcaps Will Ruin the Planet.

The WWF is against screwtops. I find that odd.

  2. “vial la door county”
    Sitting in a Bed & breakfast hot tub sipping “fruit” wine may be cheesy, but when in Rome.

    My wife had our annual “Wisconsin Door County” weekend;

    “wheenie”; a weenie who is paid to give wine tours…

    The winery gentleman went over how they transitioned to synthetic bottle corks due to the shortage of natural cork.

    The group “wine connoisseur” (paid for the tour) asked if they were as good as “natural cork”, he stated…
    “natural, synthetic or screw cap”, they all work and perform the same.

    Yikes maybe next time someone who paid for the tour or

    But, debating wine in a “Door County Winery” is much like discussing “fine steak” at a sizzler… I didn’t hear much of it ;-)

    Summary of events;
    Stayed 1800’s Bed & breakfast (very nice, on Sturgeon Bay)
    Rented “scooters” to cruise islands and parks (awesome)
    Walk and shop in 100’F weather (yikes)
    Winery tour (purchased very nice wine rack)
    Enjoyed spending more on one meal than the weekend room rates.

    There is a reason 10,000’s do this every year, it is cheesy fun and worth while cliché for any couple in Wisconsin.

  3. Buildings in Door County tend to explode these days. I'm staying away until the threat dies down.

  4. Why are they exploding? Is this a Homeland Security type of thing?
