I got to Dubai on last Thursday.
On Friday we flew to Saudi Arabia for a Saturday meeting.
On Sunday we stayed in town to visit local clients
On Monday we flew to Qatar to meet with QP (Qatar Petroleum).
It was an uneventful trip that I believe will bear fruit over the next year.
But how DO you pronounce Qatar, anyway?
I used to say it rhyming with "guitar" but now I rhyme it with "rotter."
ReplyDeleteHow do they say it there?
It seems closer to "cutter" with no accent on the first syllable.
ReplyDeleteI don't think our western tongues can really get around this word.
When I was going through Saudi Arabian immigration, I could not understand half of what the guy said to me, what with all the glottal stops and gutturals.
